Whoopi Goldberg Claps Back at NeNe Leakes Over Her Comments About The View, Backed by Video Evidence-nhung

Whoopi Goldberg has never been one to mince words.
On Wednesday, Goldberg appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, where a viewer call-in question prompted host Andy Cohen to ask about the shade NeNe Leakes has been throwing the ladies of The View since her set visit on Nov. 17.
After the viewer had asked why Leakes accused the co-hosts of being “mean girls,” Cohen asked Goldberg, “Did you know when she left that day she was feeling that?” At that point, it’s pretty clear Goldberg was largely unaware of the drama.
“You know what? I really didn’t. Come on! Really, NeNe?” said Goldberg, who then wanted to know if Leakes actually gave any specific explanation for her negative experience. Cohen explained that the former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star felt like Raven-Symoné was giving her the “stink eye” and that she “wasn’t feeling Joy [Behar].”
At that point, Goldberg deadpanned, “Well, then, you know, come back another day and try again.”
Still, as straightforward as Goldberg’s response was, it was also classy. Goldberg didn’t say anything disparaging about Leakes, which is more than one could say of the reverse.
When Leakes chatted with Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Dec. 6, she didn’t exactly play nice, saying of The View co-hosts, “They did not have nice manners. I know they’re all tired: Their hairstyles are tired, their makeup is tired. Whatever.”
Although Leakes’ comments were uncalled for, her suggestion that the women of The View weren’t very friendly to her might actually have some merit.
Were they “real nastylike,” as she accuses? It’s a matter of perspective, but watching the clip of Leakes’ appearance on The View does seem to bolster her claims of some major eye rolling (ahem, Raven-Symoné) and catty comments (ahem, Joy Behar).
Leakes felt uncomfortable enough in the moments immediately following her appearance to take her disappointment to social media, tweeting, “Just sat with a bunch of mean girls turning up their noses, looking u up & down as if u don’t belong. The HATE was so real & SAD.”
She has since deleted the tweet, but that doesn’t mean Leakes is over the sting.
“I was a guest on The View, and I just felt like — honestly speaking — if you invite me to your house, have some manners and treat me nice,” Leakes told E!. “That’s all I’m saying.”
