The greatest nautical spectacle in the world is SAIL Amsterdam, held every 5 years in the capital of The Netherlands. Since its first edition in 1975, SAIL Amsterdam has grown to become the largest public event in the Netherlands and the largest free nautical event in the world. Every five years, in excess of 600 ships navigate along the North Sea Canal before mooring in and around the IJhaven in Amsterdam. The ninth edition of SAIL Amsterdam takes place.
There are alot of historic Tall Ships, Dutch vessels and modern ships alike from all over the world. Tall Ships are the worlds largest sailing ships on the official SAIL website you can see which of the iconic ships are participating.
